This July marks the 50th Anniversary of man’s first landing and walk on the moon. Legend has it that my parents propped me up in front of the TV, one month shy of turning 1 year old with my brother who was just one month old so that we could someday say that we watched the moon landing live on TV.
On that fateful day in July 1969, Neil Armstrong’s famous words “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” was a statement heard around the world. He later explained that what he actually said (but it didn’t pick up on the audio devices) was “That’s one small step for ‘A’ man, one giant leap for mankind”. I believe Neil.
On this anniversary, I going to talk about taking that “One Giant Leap” or as Gay Hendricks says “The Big Leap”.
In this episode, I talk about:
- How I went about reading this book and extracted as much as I could (and still do) from it.
- The concept of “The One Problem“
- I’ll share a powerful quote from the book about arguing in favor of limitations.
- I’ll share the Three zones mentioned in the book that we all work from and which zone will provide the greatest benefit.
- What one sentence describes ultimate success.
