Bryan Bostic, Co-Founder of StartUp Virginia

I was first introduced to Bryan through a mutual colleague, (thank you, Natalie, from CreativeMktGroup). We scheduled an initial meeting to learn about each other and immediately connected. In every encounter since then, I have found Bryan to be a true Authentic Leader and I think it comes out beautifully in this interview.

In that first meeting, we both realized very quickly that he had to do this interview together. Our conversation that day was practically effortless.

What’s Inside?

In this interview, you will hear amazing stories from Bryan’s professional career and about his mission is to make central Virginia a hub for startups.

StartUp Virginia’s brand new 1717 Innovation Center that opened in January 2018 in downtown Richmond, Virginia (which wasn’t yet completed at the time of this interview). Bryan’s leadership has helped StartUp Virginia accelerate their mission.

What Did I Ask Bryan?

These are just a few of the questions I asked Bryan:

  • Learn how the cartoon Beetle Bailey helped launch Bryan’s first major start-up.
  • What were some of the surprises Bryan experienced from owning SmartBox.
  • What does Bryan’s family history have to do with his involvement in Richmond’s baseball stadium project?
  • How did StartUp Virginia . . . StartUp?
  • What is passion and how do you know when someone has it?

Watch through (or skip to the end if you can’t wait) to hear my notes from Bryan’s interview. What were some of your notes? Let us know in the comments.
